Hello, I’m Suzanne Campbell and I’d like to welcome you to my glass fusing creative workshops that I teach at Seabird Studio.
Seabird Studio – my happy place
I increasingly realise how important art and creative activities are to my own emotional wellbeing. Spending even a short amount of time in my studio allows me to momentarily to switch off from the everyday.
Intuitively I choose colour combinations which make me feel happy. Sparkling concoctions of shimmering mica and metallics are mixed in readiness for being incorporated into glass. I love the feeling of excitement and anticipation as I open and carefully unload the kiln. Previously sharp edges of glass are now kiln fired and feel glossy and smooth to the touch. My mind is fully immersed in each calm and creative process. I’m in the creative flow! I’m in my happy place.

Your time here at Seabird Studio is special. I am able to offer you the luxury of your own creative workshop which will be tailor-made especially for you plus up to three friends or family members. A creative workshop can be a unique gift for a birthday, for Mother’s day, for Christmas or simply spending quality time with your nearest and dearest! If you’re celebrating a special occasion I can add a complimentary personalised card, to be added to your table for the recipient.
Relax and Restore
Life is busy! Giving ourselves time to slow down and engage with art / craft can be restorative. Spending time at Seabird is an opportunity for you to focus on an activity that’s purely for you! Allow yourself to unwind with some well deserved, creative “me time” and leave the cares of the day behind.
Connect with Creativity
We know that taking time out to connect with creativity can have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing. Being immersed in art and craft activities can decrease the stress hormone cortisol while increasing the feel-good hormone endorphin. That’s a win, win!
Mindful Making
A creative workshop here at Seabird Studio requires focus but not too much! Choosing colours or creating patterns can be a gentle activity allowing your mind to be in the moment.
Enjoy the Journey
These days we seem to live in a world of comparison and judgement. Let’s be kind to ourselves! My workshops are not dependent on skill level but about enjoying a relaxed, fun and creative time. Don’t worry about how your finished glass may work out, just enjoy the journey. Besides, my workshops are carefully designed to offer you supportive guidance enabling you to make pieces you can be proud of!
Beginners Welcome!
I totally understand that for some, walking into an art studio for a workshop may feel rather daunting. “I’m not arty! What if I can’t do it”?
I get it! Rest assured that whatever your level of creative ability you will be given a warm and encouraging welcome!
With a minimum of two and a maximum of four participants my workshops are purposefully small to provide a supportive and peaceful environment.
I have taught specialist art courses for over thirty years and understand the importance of instilling, where necessary, confidence. No previous art / craft experience is required as I will guide you step by step and give individual support.
All glass is cut and prepared for you in advance of your creative workshop.
Seabird Studio, in the countryside village of Shelfanger, South Norfolk, is a recently designed and purpose built art studio. It is a light and airy space overlooking a garden with fields beyond.
Please note: Free, off street parking is available. There is approximately a 100 yard walk over shingle to the studio. Creative workshops at Seabird Studio are for participants aged 18 and over. Due to health and safety restrictions children and pets are not permitted in Seabird Studio.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR CREATIVE WORKSHOP
· Choose a group of between two and four friends/family for your creative workshop.
· Choose one glass making workshop you would all like to do. Please note: all participants will be taught the same workshop.
· Email Suzanne with some preferred dates you would like to have your workshop. suziecampbelldesign@icloud.com
· Suzanne will check availability for your suggested date. Once you and Suzanne have agreed on a date for your workshop please pay online via this website. Payment for your workshop will secure your chosen date.
· How to pay: Please add the number of participants you would like for your chosen workshop to your online basket and proceed to the checkout. Please note: there is a minimum of 2 and maximum 4 participants per workshop. The price of the workshop is per participant.
